Vivo S1 set to launch in India on August 7

Earlier this month, Vivo launched the Vivo Z1 in India with a starting price of Rs 14,990. Now, the tech giant is gearing to launch a new smartphone series in India. After successfully launching its S-series Vivo S1 in China and Thailand earlier this year, Vivo is planning to bring the same device in India very soon.

As per the invite shared by the company, Vivo will launch the Vivo S1 in India on August 7, 2019. Vivo has been teasing the details of its upcoming smartphone via its official Twitter handle. The company also took to the micro-blogging platform to share a TVC of the Vivo S1 featuring Sara Ali Khan. The video showed the actress showing off the upcoming smartphone in two colour variants – one with a shade of teal and the other with a shade of blue.

The TVC, besides highlighting the colours that the Vivo S1 would sport, also showed off some of the other key features of the upcoming smartphone, which includes a triple rear camera setup, a water drop notch, in-display fingerprint sensor and a design that features slim bezels.

As mentioned before, Vivo has already launched the Vivo S1 in some international markets. The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to launch its S-series smartphone with similar specifications in India as well. For your reference, the Vivo S1 that has been launched in some international markets features a 6.38-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 processor and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with Funtouch OS 9 on top.

As far as the RAM is concerned, Vivo launched the Vivo S1 with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal memory in the international markets. However, it is possible that Vivo might offer more memory variants in India. In terms of the camera, the Vivo S1 comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 16MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone will come with a 32MP selfie camera. The phone is backed by 4,500mAh battery.

While there is no word on the pricing yet, but the phone is likely to be priced around Rs 20,000 in India.
